Rise Like Khadijah – 3D Hot Air Balloon Reflection Craft
This 3D hot air balloon craft helps children reflect on how they can rise through faith, kindness, and strong character — just like Lady Khadijah (a.s.).
The message is simple but powerful:
Strong faith makes you rise.
Just like a hot air balloon rises into the sky, our hearts rise when we grow in faith, kindness, and generosity.
🌟 How It Works
Each section (panel) of the balloon represents a different way we can rise.
Children write their own ideas inside each section of the balloon, such as:
💛 Help someone who is sad
💛 Share what I have
💛 Pray on time
💛 Be honest
💛 Stand up for what is right
💛 Give charity
💛 Be patient
As they fill each section, they reflect on how their actions help them “rise” closer to Allah.
🌺 Rising Like Lady Khadijah (a.s.)
We connect this craft to Lady Khadijah (a.s.), one of the greatest women in Islam.
She rose not because of wealth or status — but because of:
Her strong faith
Her generosity
Her courage
Her support of the Prophet ﷺ
Her sacrifice for Islam
Her 'lifting others'
and Allah raised her rank.
She is one of the 4 women of Jannah
When children write their own “ways to rise,” they learn that should think about lifting others with you.
How to make the craft
✂️ Step 1: Cut the Balloon Pieces
Cut out all 4 balloon shapes.
Fold each balloon down the dotted centre line.
Make sure the folds are neat and sharp.
These folded pieces will create your 3D balloon effect.
✍️ Step 2: Write Ways You Can Rise
Before gluing, open each folded piece slightly and write inside each section.
In each panel, children can write:
Lift others and you will rise
Strong faith makes you rise
Pray on time
Help someone
Give charity
Be patient
Support family
Be brave in faith
Encourage them to think:
“How else can I rise?”
Connect this to Lady Khadijah (a.s.):
She rose because she:
Believed strongly
Supported the Prophet ﷺ
Gave generously
Stayed patient in hardship
🧡 Step 3: Create the 3D Balloon
Keep all balloon pieces folded.
Glue one half of the first balloon to one half of the second.
Continue gluing each folded piece together.
When all pieces are attached, gently open them out.
Your balloon will now “pop” into a 3D shape.
🖍 Step 4: Prepare the Background Sheet
Colour the clouds, sun, moon, and sky if desired.
Discuss the message at the top:
“Strong Faith Makes You Rise.”In the large balloon outline on the page, children can write:
“You can rise by…”
Example: lifting others
📌 Step 5: Attach the 3D Balloon
Apply glue along the centre back fold of your 3D balloon.
Stick it directly onto the large balloon outline on the reflection sheet.
Press gently so it sticks securely.
Now it will stand out beautifully from the page.
🌟 Optional Add-On
Don't use the background sheet.
Add string and a small paper basket to make it hang.
Display on a classroom wall under a title:
“We Rise Through Faith.”
