Naar-e-Haydari Craft /Father's Day
🦁 Naar-e-Haydari Craft – Celebrating Imam Ali (a) with Joy & Creativity
This interactive lion craft is a fun and meaningful activity we use when celebrating the blessed birthday of Imam Ali (a). The lion symbolises strength, bravery, and compassion — qualities beautifully associated with Imam Ali, often known as Haydar, the Lion.
Children colour, decorate, and assemble the craft, then move the arm to reveal the joyful call “Naar-e-Haydari!” along with a celebratory message for fathers. The moving element makes the craft engaging, memorable, and exciting for young learners and dhikr of Imam Ali is always Ibadat :)
🌟 What Children Learn Through This Craft
While creating and playing with the lion, children naturally connect with key values:
Courage and standing for truth
Kindness and protection of others
Love for Imam Ali (a)
Respect and appreciation for fathers and role models
It creates a gentle bridge between celebrating Imam Ali’s (a) wiladat and honouring the caring role of fathers in a child’s life.
✂️ How the Craft Works
Colour and decorate the lion
Add stickers, gems, or glitter for personality
Assemble the moving arm piece (split pin or fold the arm in a zig-zag (accordion fold) so it stretches out when pulled and folds back in again
Lift or move the arm to reveal the message
Children love the interactive element — it turns a simple colouring activity into something playful and expressive.

💬 Learning & Reflection
You can ask children:
Why is Imam Ali called the Lion?
What does bravery mean in everyday life?
How do our fathers protect and guide us?
How can we be kind and strong at the same time?
These conversations help children link creativity with values and identity.
