My Mashk of Service – Craft Activity
🌊 My Mashk of Service – Craft Activity
This beautiful craft is inspired by the mashk (water skin) carried by Hazrat Abbas (a) — a symbol of selflessness, courage, and serving others with love.
Children create their own Mashk of Service to reflect on how they can help, care, and serve those around them.
✂️ How to Make It:
Carefully cut out the mashk shape.
Fold along the centre line so it opens like a flap.
On the inside, children can:
Write kind actions they want to do
Draw people they want to help
Add words like kindness, bravery, helping, or service
Decorate with colours, stickers, or patterns.
Close the mashk and display it as a reminder to serve others.
💡 Reflection Prompt (optional):
“Who can I help today?”
“How can I be kind, even when it’s hard?”
🌟 Why This Craft Matters:
This activity helps children:
Learn about serving others with sincerity
Connect Islamic history to everyday actions
Build empathy, responsibility, and compassion
✨ Extra Idea:
Why not punch a small hole at the top, thread some string or ribbon through it, and wear your Mashk over your shoulder — just like a real mashk — as a reminder to carry kindness and service with you wherever you go.
