I Want to Be Loyal Like Maytham al-Tammar (a.s.) – Date Palm & Basket of Loyalty Craft
Maytham al-Tammar (a.s.) was one of the most loyal companions of Imam Ali (a.s.). He loved Imam Ali (a.s.) deeply, learned from him, and remained faithful to him even when it became difficult. His courage, honesty, and unwavering loyalty continue to inspire us today.
This two-part craft helps children explore what loyalty means and how they can practise it in their own lives.
Part 1: The Date Palm of Loyalty
Children begin by colouring the date palm and learning about some of the beautiful virtues and titles associated with Imam Ali (a.s.). On each date, they can write a fazilah (virtue) of Imam Ali (a.s.), such as:

As they write each virtue, discuss why Maytham al-Tammar (a.s.) remained so loyal to Imam Ali (a.s.) and what made Imam Ali (a.s.) such a remarkable leader and role model.
Part 2: My Basket of Loyalty
Children then cut out the dates and place them into their Basket of Loyalty. Each date contains a practical action that demonstrates loyalty through good character and strong values.
