Follow the Footsteps of the Holy Prophet (saww) 🌙✨

This simple and meaningful tissue paper craft helps children reflect on what it means to follow the example of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saww).

Using coloured tissue paper and water, children create a beautiful stained effect on the printable. They can also make the activity personal by writing their own name in the sentence, for example:

Zainab follows the footsteps of the Holy Prophet

or

Ali follows the footsteps of the Holy Prophet

This makes the craft feel even more special, as each child is reminded that they can follow the Prophet (saww) in their own daily life.

You Will Need

- The Follow the Footsteps of the Holy Prophet (saww) printable

- Coloured bleeding tissue paper

- Scissors

- A spray bottle filled with water

- A protected surface or tray

- A pen or pencil to write the child’s name

How to Make It

1. First, ask the child to write their name in the gap on the page so the sentence becomes personal.

- For example: Zainab follows the footsteps of the Holy Prophet

2. Cut coloured tissue paper into hearts, petals or any other shapes.

3. Place the tissue paper pieces over parts of the design.

4. Lightly spray the tissue paper with water until damp.

5. Leave it for a few minutes so the colour can transfer onto the paper.

6. Carefully peel off the tissue paper.

7. Leave the page flat to dry completely.

Once dry, the page will have a lovely soft, colourful background, making each child’s artwork unique.

A Simple Learning Message 👣

As children complete the craft, talk to them about how they can follow the footsteps of the Holy Prophet (saww) through their actions.

Ask:

- How can you follow the Holy Prophet (saww)?

- Can you be kind like him?

- Can you tell the truth?

- Can you help others?

- Can you show good manners?

This activity helps children see that following the Holy Prophet (saww) is not just something we talk about — it is something we try to do every day.

Why This Craft Works

Because the child adds their own name, the message becomes personal and meaningful. It is a lovely reminder that each one of us can try to follow the footsteps of the Holy Prophet (saww).

A beautiful activity for Milad un Nabi, madrassah, Islamic classes or home learning.
