After days of remembering, mourning and shedding tears for the Ahlul Bayt (a.s.), Eid al-Zahra is a day to bring smiles back to little faces! 💗

This simple interactive craft helps children see that change from sadness to happiness. At first, the heart shows a child remembering and mourning. When children pull the tab, the picture changes to a joyful Eid scene — a lovely visual way to reinforce the message:

“Today is Eid al-Zahra,

The Lady Zahra smiled, so we can smile too!” 🌷

✂️ How to Make It

Print the craft pages and let your child colour and decorate them — crayons are perfect for that lovely child-made look! 🖍️

Cut out the pieces and the heart opening on the front page. Assemble the pull-out section behind it so that the pictures line up with the heart window. Secure the outer pieces while making sure the slider can still move freely.

Then simply pull the tab to watch the heart change from:
